START YOUR ENGINES!

Yesterday marked the second race of the 2010 season NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. It was held at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana which is about an hour out from our La Brea HQ. Most tend to think NASCAR is bound mainly to the Midwest but the circuit actually visits California 3 times a season. Twice in Fontana and once up north in Sanoma. And for the true gearhead, once in Las Vegas. Not bad for the west coast.

I cruised out to the race with fellow race junkies, Chris Hull of Alpinestars and Darren Romenelli of DRX. It was my first time attending a Sprint Cup event and outside of actually driving the car, which I believe I'd place easily in the top 5 [yeah right], I was given pretty much the best seat in the house.

Mr. Hull is very serious about anything that runs on gasoline.

Jacob, if you like checker flags you'd consider putting me in the seat.

Dr Romanelli in conjunction with driver management agency MMI and UNDFTD created a run of longsleeve tees to commemorate the race. Here, Darren and Jacob presents to one of his drivers Kasey Kahne a tee before he strapped in and fired up the 9 car.

After the National Anthem and before the green flag, there's always an amazing fly over.

The shear volume these 43 cars generate is beyond anything imaginable. Maybe the front row at of a Slayer concert would be louder.

Maybe.

Thanks to Chris Hull, Darren Romanelli and Jacob Agajanian for sorting out one the best days of my life.

To anyone that truly knows me...that's no BS. Seriously.
