Lucky number 13. This course is considered a Medium Mountain route. It continued on early this day in Vittel and headed east into Colmar.

Jersey rider number 5, Hienrich Haussler of Germany took the podium for the Yellow. At 25 years of age he represents the younger set of combatives to enter the Tour. His final time ended at 4h, 56m, 26s. Considering the amount elevation and the rain this time is still incredibly fast.

Armstong's teammate, Levi Leipheimer withdrew from the race with a broken wrist from a crash he was involved in the day prior. Levi was in 4th place overall for time. This loss could potentially play a role in the team strategy for Armstrong's capture of this year's TDF. Drama!
