Norm Van Lier, one of the most popular players in Chicago Bulls history and one of the NBA's top defensive players in the 1970s died today at 61 years old.

Interesting fact: Norm held the record for the longest field goal in NBA history (84 ft) for 24 years until Baron Davis broke the record on November 17, 2001 (89 ft).
